Some countries do not only allow private tv recordings but also passing your friends a "private copy" can be legal.
So if you have missed a show and a good friend of yours has that recording, you can ask him to pass that copy of otr-recording to you.
How to get that file:
1. Request the friends, to accept you as a member of their 5-friends list (send a request, use the account nicknames e.g. from the shoutbox)
2. if the request is accepted you can see the recording list of your friends (right side of screen)
3. Have a look in the foreign "myrecording" lists of your buddies and ask your buddy to pass the recording to you, which you missed to record.
4. If your friend allows, you receive the missed recording in your list and now you can use it as your own (download, decode, watch). One exception: You cannot pass this "copy" to others. (Copies of copies are prohibited)
Thats`s it.
Tip: If you want to share otrkey.files from your disk -> Use the Upload-Services for byte-transfer.
If you want to share the decoded files (.wmv), you can use the Upload Services as well, but buddyXChange makes no sense in that case.
What to do, if you receive a "buddy-request" from others?
Be careful. Think twice. Is this really a good friend of yours? Respect the privat copy law of your country!
Note: OTR allows buddylist of up to 5 persons. Don´t change the buddies too often. Otherwise the "privacy" of your copies could be contested. Taking money for a copy is against the law in most states.
This great feature was started by Sven (something serious happend, unreachable?) , recoded and finished by Baszim.
Have fun!
