In colonial Africa American railway engineer Robert Adamson sets out from Mombasa Kenya to Lake Victoria to plot out a route for Africas first transcontinental railway. He is accompanied on this treacherous task by Jane Carlton whose father and fiancé have both disappeared in the wilds of the African veldt and Pasha whose father is working with a rival railway company.
